Where the apartments are
Apartments and penthouses are concentrated in the town itself. On the first and second line, along the promenade and La Roda beach, are the buildings with sea views and the penthouses with terraces. In Altea Pueblo, around the main avenue and the market, are the homes of people who live here all year, close to schools and shops. In and around the old town there are few flats, and nearly all are small. Further north, Campomanes and Mascarat have apartments in developments with pools next to the marina.
What sets one apartment apart from another
- Lift and floor. Older buildings in the centre do not always have a lift, which matters if you plan to stay many years.
- Parking. In and around the old town it is rarely included, and parking in summer is hard.
- Terrace and orientation. A south or east facing terrace gets used all year; a north facing one, much less.
- Noise in high season. A quiet street in January can change in August: visit in summer too if you can.
